Overview
A strong understanding of the law is essential in today’s business environment. In this program, you’ll build a broad foundation in business administration while developing the legal insight required to navigate contracts, employment issues, property transactions, and dispute resolution. This powerful combination prepares you for careers across finance, management, entrepreneurship, labor relations, and other business-focused legal fields.
The accelerated 3+3 structure allows qualified students to complete both their bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor in just six years. Students fulfill their senior-year undergraduate requirements by successfully completing first-year law school courses, saving a year of tuition and related costs while beginning their legal careers sooner.
Students apply to Akron Law during their third year through the Law School Admission Council. Because early planning is key, interested students are encouraged to speak with an academic advisor as early as possible to ensure proper course sequencing and timely completion of program requirements.
Admissions Requirements
Pursuant to Akron Law’s 3 + 3 policy, an applicant must be in his or her junior year and participating in a partner program. Applicants must also meet his or her undergraduate institution’s criteria for eligibility.
Typically, you must have a 3.4 grade point average and 150 LSAT score to qualify for admission. However, this might vary depending on your program. Each undergraduate institution determines which majors and programs are eligible for participation.
